Now that you have made an appointment for your dog or cat to be spayed or neutered, here is some important information you need to know:
The Humane Society A.L.L. Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic is located at 128 Big Hill Ave in Richmond, across from the old Swifty gas station.
Drop your pet off between 7:00 and 8:30 AM.
Cats should be in a secure pet carrier with their first and your last name clearly written on the outside. One cat per carrier.
Dogs must be brought in on a secure leash.
Do not feed or allow your pet to drink after midnight the night before the procedure. Try to give them an early morning walk or litter box break before coming to the clinic. Remember, no food or water.
If you have proof of current vaccinations, bring them with you. If your pet is not current on vaccines, they are included in the cost of the procedure.
Cat owners may request flea, tick, and worm treatment for an additional $5.00.
All animals are available for pick up the same day after surgery between 3:30 and 5:00 PM.
Any issues arising after you've made your appointment should be directed to a clinic volunteer at 859-779-3611. Things to call about are changes in your pet's health information or your schedule, i.e., female dogs coming into a heat cycle or needing to cancel and reschedule. Calling in advance will allow another pet owner the opportunity to fill a vacant appointment slot.
